by heathermorrow· January 30, 2015· in Babies and Kids, Families, Mini Sessions, What to Wear for Family Portraits· 0 comments tags: holiday portraits, kansas city family photographer, kansas city family portraits, mini sessions
the narcisos are a family i always look forward to working with. heidi knows just what to wear for family portraits. she always hits it out of the park with wardrobe and the kids…oh, these kids! they are so good to me. they’re some of the sweetest kids i’ve ever worked with. here are a few favorites from our recent holiday mini session. i discovered this gorgeous location at the very end of the holiday season and loved it. we’ll definitely be shooting again here next year. we are currently working on 2015 mini session dates. email us now to get on the list and we’ll notify you when the details are finalized.

the mccarthy family – kansas city family portraits

by heathermorrow· January 28, 2015· in Babies and Kids, Families· 0 comments tags: fall family photos, kansas city family photographer, kansas city family portraits
i’m losing track of how many times i’ve worked with the mccarthy family now. having them in front of my camera is always a treat. we typically go for an urban setting for their family portraits but we decided to try out the beautiful fall colors this year and i love what we captured. not only are the mccarthys a ridiculously beautiful family, they are one of the most loving families i know. we used this next series on their christmas card and it just makes me smile. and seriously. farrah. she slays me. like a sweet little fairy in the meadow. she’s perfect. ryan and erika, you are simply amazing and so are your children. and i’m honored that you’ve chosen me to capture all these little stages in their lives. with lots of love, H

i love love love when clients refer their friends to me and this adorable family was no exception. the moment they walked in the door of the studio i knew we would have a blast! their girls are as just sweet and fun as they are cute and they knew exactly what to wear for their family portraits. this combination of patterns and colors is so great! those eyes! man, these girls are gorgeous. i really hope their daddy has a big ol’ shotgun. i have a strong feeling he’s gonna need it. i love father/daughter and mother/daughter portraits and these are definitely some of my favorites! thanks for coming to visit and for being such a fun family to have in front of my camera! looking forward to next time. we are currently booking spring and summer mini sessions! email us or call 913.787.2527 for details! the mccarthy family portraits – kansas city family photographer

by heathermorrow· January 30, 2014· in Babies and Kids, Families, What to Wear for Family Portraits· 0 comments tags: family portraits, kansas city family photographer, what to wear for family portraits
there are no words to describe how much i adore the mccarthy family. they’ve been in front of my camera before and they’re a dream to photograph. their last family portrait session took place in the studio so we were excited to head outdoors for an urban session this time. mom and dad are gorgeous as are the boys. and they’re the perfect example of what to wear for family portraits. the whole family just has style. for days. but it was the boys personalities that really shined this during this shoot. they were hamming it up for the camera and i couldn’t stop clicking! every time i thought we were done the boys would go and do something else that was too cute to not document! see for yourselves in the bajillion images i’m about to post. love these profile shots! can’t get enough of their brotherly love. i swear this wasn’t planned. mayson just really, really loves his brother. no wonder their kids are so gorgeous. look at these two! what little boy doesn’t love to run and jump into his daddy’s arms? and just when i think this family couldn’t possibly be any happier or any more […]

clients, friends and family | kansas city family photographer

you’ve seen these little ones and their parents on the blog. a lot. in november 2005 their mama found me via google. emma’s first photo shoot took place when she was 3 months old and i’ve lost count on the number of portrait sessions we’ve done since. although marc and kristi started out as clients we quickly became friends and realized just how much we have in common. over the last 8 years we’ve spent a lot of time together. i’ve watched their daughter grow up, i was in the room when their son was born and i have the incredible honor of being his godmother. these were a couple of my favorite images from gavin’s newborn session and the one on the right is still one of my favorite newborn sibling shots ever. over the years chris and marc have grown just as close as kristi and i and our kids simply adore each other. marc and kristi are more than just our friends – they’re like family. i call kristi my sister from another mister and having the four of them in front of my camera feels like anything but work. here are just a few of my […]

the aydelotte family

about five years ago i received an email from a woman i’d never met. she was starting a magazine for kansas city women and she was looking for a photographer to shoot the cover stories. it was august and busy season was in full swing. already fully booked with portrait sessions for the remainder of the year i was hesitant to take on another project. i hadn’t seen the magazine, nor did i know the publisher. my gut instinct was to say no as i didn’t necessarily have the time to add anything else to my already busy schedule. i asked for a few days to consider her offer and when we spoke again to discuss the details she told me she really wanted me on board. i asked for more information about the magazine, which would showcase the amazing, inspirational women of kansas city and she told me her number one goal was to use this publication to keep the women of kansas city connected. i really had no idea what i was getting myself in to but hook, line and sinker – she had me. keeping women connected….who wouldn’t want to be part of that? i took a […]

I shared a couple of sneak peeks of Quinlynn and Hallie a few weeks ago. Here are a few more favorites from my session with these two beautiful girls. And yes – as always – the baby fever is full effect. These teeny tiny ones get me EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Love this next one so much! We used it on the inside of Quinlynn's birth announcement and their mama ordered a 22×22 canvas of it. Can't wait to see it on her wall! It's been a while since I photographed a two year old. I had almost forgotten how much fun they are! Couldn't you just eat her up? She's seriously one of the cutest little things I've ever seen. There aren't many things a two year old loves more than a lollipop!  Lindsey and Nate, it was such a pleasure to photograph precious little your girls. I can't wait for our next session! Lots of love, H

Quinlynn | Newborn Session Sneak Peek

Last week I shared a sneak peek of Miss Hallie, but I had to wait for her baby sister's birth announcements to go out before sharing her sneak peek.  I can't tell you how excited I was when I walked in to Nate and Lindsey's house and saw their coffee table. Instantly, I knew we had to incorporate it in our session. Meet Miss Quinlynn Tate.  Hallie loves her so much! She's going to be a great big sister. Is that tree stump table not amazing? I told Nate and Lindsey that if they ever decide to get rid of it I've got dibs.  More to come soon! I've got lots of editing to do this week so stay tuned. Happy Monday! H
