style friday– top 10 winter accessories

by heathermorrow· December 21, 2012· in My Favorite Things, Products, Shopping, Style· 0 comments tags: style friday, winter accessories
happy friday y’all! a cold front hit early this week and we were finally able to start wearing those snuggly warm winter accessories. check out our top 10 ways to stay warm and stylish this winter! 1.) you can wear a dress all year long if you throw a chunky sweater over it– just add tights, and a cable knit infinity scarf 2.) as you all know coffee is a must at hocus focus. this coffee cup cozy is hand-knit with a gorgeous cable stitch. 3.) recently i purchased something super similar at madewell – faux, of course.  this is an ASOS snood. scarf/hood. 4.) faux fur vest. so cute. brown or black– both chic. 5.) grey/black knit hat with a pop. 6.) long chunky sweaters. totally in. try mixing with stripes and a floppy hat. i just bought an orange one at nomads in lawrence and it’s quickly become a staple of my winter wardrobe. 7.) but how can you text without texting gloves. these happen to be cashmere. 8.) now these are jordan’s grandmas vintage gloves— you can’t go wrong with vintage especially with that gogeous leather. j – if these come up missing, don’t come looking for me. Got Canvas?

by heathermorrow· July 03, 2008· in Products· 1 comments
Christen will in a few weeks.  We just ordered Lola’s storyboard…on fine art canvas.  It will be a 12×36 gallery wrap.  The solid colored edges you see on the image below will be wrapped around the sides and the back to create a 12×36 gallery wrap.  We did a similar canvas of Norah last summer and it turned out beautifully!  I can’t wait to get this one and see them hanging next to each other.     Just click the image to see it larger.  I’ll be sure to photograph the canvas when it arrives.  My dear friend Misty will be shooting my family in July and I plan to order a 24×36 canvas to go in an amazing vintage frame I picked up last month.  (No pressure or anything, Misty!) Fine art canvas is a gorgeous alternative to the traditional photographic print.  They can be gallery wrapped, which arrive ready to hang – no framing necessary, or you can pop them into your favorite frame for a completely different look.  Either way, it’s a gorgeous addition to your family heirloom collection. Ask about fine art canvas at your next session!

A Wickedly Creative Family

by heathermorrow· March 28, 2008· in Families, Products· 4 comments
I just love this family!  One of the many reasons is that they’re all super creative…including the kids.  They give me such creative freedom and they’re not afraid to think outside the box.  We recently sat down for their ordering session and this was the wall collection we came up with.  I’m dying to do one of these in my house.  It’s definitely not your typical cookie cutter photo wall. Three vertical 10x20s.  Most of the time I do a 10×20 as a horizontal storyboard, rather than a single image.  Not every image will work as a 10×20, but when it does you’ll get a very modern feel from it.  I can’t wait to see the finished product once they’re hung on the wall.   I just might have to do one of those in my house. And while I’m at it, here are a few other faves from their session. I loved this old bus we stumbled upon.  Wish it was still there! I had a blast shooting you guys  and can’t wait to do it again.  It was great to see you last weekend and thanks for the Chef Burger recommendation.  We loved it!  Chef Burger is located at […]

Not Your Average Portrait

by heathermorrow· March 02, 2007· in Products· 0 comments
So I’ve had this idea spinning around in my head for a while now and finally had the time to work on it.  It’s more than a portrait.  It’s a statement piece.  These images will be printed on the fine art canvas that is one of our new offerings for 2007.  Also stay tuned for a sneak peek of these images on the latest pendants we’ve added to the jewelry collection.  It’s a fresh, new style that’s already receiving rave reviews.  (Don’t forget to subscribe to the blog to receive automatic email updates on the latest happenings.)

i fell in love with photography as a way of storyt i fell in love with photography as a way of storytelling. by nature, i am a very curious person. i love nothing more than meeting new people and discovering what makes them tick, what sets them apart. this is probably why i have such a love of shooting branding photos. ⁣

meet @haileebwalsh, owner of @citygymkc. she’s a business woman, a trainer, a devoted wife, an adoring auntie, an activist and a champion of so many people and causes. she is never afraid to stand up for what is right, whether it’s easy or not. she doesn’t give up and she doesn’t give in. and in case you hadn’t noticed, she’s built like a brick shit house. and so fun to work with! ⁣
