feeding my creative soul and nailing jello to a tree

by heathermorrow· November 29, 2012· in Behind the Scenes, Models, Studio· 1 comments tags: finding time vs. making time, recharging my creativity, studio lights
it always seems like the things i have the least amount of time for are the things i truly need the most. have you ever been so busy that you lose sight of why you’re doing what you’re doing? or that you go in to auto-pilot and just keep doing the same exact thing over and over? as a photographer i’m always afraid of pushing out the same work for client after client so i work hard to stay fresh, challenge myself and try new things. and while finding time to experiment and feed my creative soul during busy season makes nailing jello to a tree seem totally do-able, that really does seem to be the time when i need it the most. i’ve learned that you’ll never find time for the things you want to do – you have to make time. and if something is important enough you WILL make the time. so today i carved out a block of time to meet with a couple of my amazing studio mates so we could try new things and push ourselves beyond auto-pilot. we each brought different skills to the table and shared them with one another and i […]

just another day at the office

by heathermorrow· August 02, 2012· in Behind the Scenes, Editorial· 0 comments tags: arrowhead stadium, behind the scenes, danni boatwright wiegmann, her life magazine, kansas city chiefs, sideline chic
one of the things i love about my job is that no two days are alike. i love meeting people and getting to know them, learning what drives them and what they love about life. and i love getting to explore and shoot at new locations. today my subject was the amazing danni boatwright wiegmann of sideline chic and the “office” was arrowhead stadium, home of the kansas city chiefs. i photographed danni for the september issue of her life magazine. i love that her life has allowed me to meet so many of the wonderful women in kansas city.  while the field was off limits because of an upcoming game, we had a great time shooting in the stands. it was blazing hot and danni was a trooper in her long sleeves, jeans and boots! i cannot wait for you to see these photos. be sure to pick up a copy of the september issue of her life magazine!

meet @haileebwalsh, owner of @citygymkc. she’s a business woman, a trainer, a devoted wife, an adoring auntie, an activist and a champion of so many people and causes. she is never afraid to stand up for what is right, whether it’s easy or not. she doesn’t give up and she doesn’t give in. and in case you hadn’t noticed, she’s built like a brick shit house. and so fun to work with! ⁣

if you’ve never met hailee, follow her online, watch what she’s up to and get to know her. she’s inspiring and always doing big things with big love!
