it’s been a couple of months since i stumbled upon maddy nash and i’ve been crushing on these bags ever since so you can imagine my delight when designer charity ohlund called and asked me to photograph them. my answer? that’s easy. will work for handbags!
everyone knows i love to shop local. maddy nash bags are handmade (another bonus) right here in kansas city. during the 2011 holiday season charity wanted to create a special gift for all of the amazing women in her life. she picked up some trendy, graphic fabrics, borrowed a sewing machine and created a dozen clutch purses and placed a custom label inside of each one. some were sentimental, some were inside jokes but they were all personalized. once a few pictures hit facebook, she began to receive requests from friends, friends of friends, co-workers of friends of friends and so on and in january 2012 she founded maddy nash.
love the yellow!
and of course, the orange, too.
and just when i thought i couldn’t love the orange one any more… i opened it and saw the turquoise interior. my very first website was orange and turquoise. anyone remember that? seems so long ago.
how adorable is this black and white bag paired with bright green interior? as if the green weren’t enough to make me happy…there’s that fantastic quote.
and the chevron….don’t even get my started on the chevron. be still my heart!
not only do you get to customize your interior/exterior fabrics and your label, but you can also choose a silver or gold frame for your clutch. how fun is this pink?
i loved this shot of all the bags lined up. such a beautiful rainbow of colors. and on the right are swatches of all the different fabrics available.
after we finished shooting the bags i was happy to turn the camera on charity.
she’s creative, talented and she’s beautiful. and her custom clutches are quickly becoming the talk of the town. they’re available online, at clique boutique in the village, at tallulahbelle’s in park place and will soon be featured in one of kansas city’s hottest magazines so i suggest you scoop up a few of them while you can.
now, if only i could decide which ones i want for myself and what i want on my labels! which one is your favorite and what will your label say?
check out the maddy nash website and be sure to visit their facebook page, too. happy shopping!
Heather!
