rebecca – senior portraits

this is undoubtably one of the most fun kansas city senior portrait sessions i’ve done. rebecca, one of our 2012 senior spokesmodels, is all smiles and her laugh is truly contagious.

after hair and makeup by the fabulous michele taylor, we kicked off rebecca’s session in the kansas city river market and i loved her classic outfit. such a timeless choice for senior pictures.

we laughed a lot during this session. i walked away on cloud nine – not only because i knew we captured some amazing images, but because rebecca is just really fun to be around.

and when she laughs – she really laughs. she doesn’t hold back in front of the camera – which makes her a photographer’s dream.

i loved the vintage vibe of this yellow dress and the way it looked with all the ivy along the fence.

after the river market, we headed out to my favorite gravel road where rebecca continued to rock it. can you believe she was nervous about her session? she’s such a natural.

she brought such a great range of clothes for senior pictures. she had classic, trendy, casual, dressy – her wardrobe was perfect. i’m a sucker for a chambray shirt. it’s a staple i think every girl should own. you can dress it up or down and it goes with just about everything. when she pulled out this maxi shirt to go with it i knew she needed cowboy boots to finish off the outfit and it just so happens that we wear the same size so she was able to borrow mine.

another timeless outfit with a modern twist. note to self – find yellow shoes for summer.

hugh sidey was an american journalist who worked for both life and time magazines. he once said, “above all else: go out with a sense of humor.  it is needed armor.  joy in one’s heart and some laughter on one’s lips is a sign that the person down deep has a pretty good grasp of life.”

i’d say rebecca has a pretty good grasp of life and i know that no matter where it takes her, she will succeed. and she’ll do it with that beautiful smile upon her face.

(don’t forget, we’re now accepting applications for our 2013 senior spokesmodel search. apply today!)

a few favorites from a pre-covid @duofit_maternity a few favorites from a pre-covid @duofit_maternity shoot. founder @klwperry thoughtfully created this line of #maternity #activewear that is both designed and produced right here in #kansascity. and it’s getting rave reviews from mamas to be as well as those postpartum.
i fell in love with photography as a way of storyt i fell in love with photography as a way of storytelling. by nature, i am a very curious person. i love nothing more than meeting new people and discovering what makes them tick, what sets them apart. this is probably why i have such a love of shooting branding photos. ⁣

i’ve told many stories over my 17 year career and this is one that sticks with me and has influenced me. ⁣

meet @haileebwalsh, owner of @citygymkc. she’s a business woman, a trainer, a devoted wife, an adoring auntie, an activist and a champion of so many people and causes. she is never afraid to stand up for what is right, whether it’s easy or not. she doesn’t give up and she doesn’t give in. and in case you hadn’t noticed, she’s built like a brick shit house. and so fun to work with! ⁣

if you’ve never met hailee, follow her online, watch what she’s up to and get to know her. she’s inspiring and always doing big things with big love!
