We survived the first day of preschool…YEAH! It was a really emotional day for us. Us meaning Chris and I. We’re the sappy dorks. The drop off was actually much easier than we had anticipated. We fully expected a complete meltdown from The Lu, but she was a total ROCK STAR. Not even so much as a whine or a whimper. She just went into class with Roo and was totally cool with it. (Granted we sort of snuck out quick like, but the teacher said it’s best not to make a big deal of it and hey, you gotta do what you gotta do, right?)
After we dropped them off we went to our favorite coffee shop to hang out and relax. We were both reading different sections of the paper and every once in a while we would put the paper down and look at each other with these big, cheesy grins, giggle and say, "Can you believe our kids are in school?" Then we’d check the clock to see how long before we could pick them up. It was crazy! We’re so proud of our girls!
I just love this shot because
Lu is totally glued to Daddy’s side (which is pretty standard for her) and Roo (the
independent, not scared of anything child) is up front leading the way
on their next big adventure together. It’s so them!
For those of you with school aged children you totally know what I’m feeling. For those of you with younger children you’ve GOT TO CHERISH EVERY SINGLE MOMENT you have with them because I swear to you it seems like they were just born yesterday and today they’re off to school!
I’ll announce the contest winner
tomorrow. Thanks for all of the entries!! I got some great ideas and
it’s going to be tough to choose!
Thanks for letting me get all sappy on you tonight!
